On this most special day, to celebrate Dreamwidth, Hikago fandom *on* Dreamwidth, and to celebrate, of course, our favorite Go players, here by request is the 3rd annual

1. Isumi - Everything Isumi does in China, but especially the scenes with Le Ping. It's such great character growth for him.
2. Waya - I love the way Waya reacts to all the odd things going on with Hikaru. The best scene for that is when Waya and Ochi are watching Hikaru's first-dan match with Touya Meijin and he just keeps repeating 'he's our friend' everytime something happens.
3. Mitani - I really wish Mitani had gotten more time in the arc because he was a very interesting contrast to the other Go players. He was decent and good for the level he was playing at, but he was such a bastard about everything. I love when he would taunt Tsuitsui, especially the scene where he and Tsuitsui played their first game.
4. Kishimoto - I love everything about Kishimoto, I can't lie. My favorite canon scene for him is actually about him, but he's not even in it! It's when Hikaru is talking to Waya and the other insei and they're remembering 'that kid who drank the black coffee' and Hikaru realizes it was Kishimoto and is completely embarrassed because he couldn't beat him!
5. Kurata - My favorite scene with him is when he's gone to visit Touya Meijin after his retirement. Kurata stops to talk to Akira on his way out and it shows a side of Kurata we don't often see. He's thoughtful and slightly worried, but also hopeful about the future of Go and staying ahead of the people coming up behind him.

Top 5 arguments you'd guarantee Akira and Hikaru have had!

Ahhhh, arguments, the true meat of the Akira/Hikaru relationship! I'm assuming this doesn't count Go-related fights, sooooo....!
5.) Music/Movies - Can you imagine them "taking a night off" from Go and trying to agree on some sort of entertainment? Hikaru would listen to punk rock music and watch bloody action movies, while Akira would want classical music and a nice period drama. *le sigh*
4.) Food - Cooking? Going out to eat? Hikaru would want nothing but junk foot, soda and ramen. Akira would feel like a parent, tryint o foist fruits and veggies on him. What an ordeal!
3.) Driving - Once they hit driving age, can you imagine them in a car together???? Akira would drive like a granny and Hikaru would be a lead-foot. Neither would be able to STAND the other!
2.) Punctuality - Hikaru will be late for EVERYTHING! Doesn't matter what. LATE LATE LATE! And Akira will be early. There will be much yelling. Much. *mods firmly*
And the number one argument....
