It wasn't that long ago that we got things heated up with the summer mini-round, but it's time for the 14^th round of

blind_go!!

This round is Author's Choice! 1500-8000 words, up to five fics... due date is September 19^th so we can celebrate Hikaru's birthday in ficcish style!!

And... as you may have surmised already... we are experimenting with mirroring the challenge on both livejournal and dreamwidth. However, you do NOT need either a livejournal or a dreamwidth to play! Anyone who loves Hikaru no Go is encouraged to participate!! There's nothing we love more at blind go than participation!! Because we are testing out mirroring, we ask of you this favor: please only comment to posts in the blind go community of the platform of your choice... that is to say, if you prefer dreamwidth, sign up here on

blind_go. If you prefer livejournal, sign up here on

blind_go. This will help us determine how to proceed with mirroring in future rounds. Don't worry, though, it's all one round that will all be compiled together!!

You can read all about it here. Because this is flashfic, speed go, sign ups are not necessary, but the whole community is hoping you, yes, you are thinking of writing! - Remix Madness: If you didn't sign up for Remix but would like to still remix Hikago fic, there's Remix Madness going on! People who have opted in and mentioned Hikaru no Go in their sign-up (that means that they have given permission for others to remix their fic for Remix Madness):

- Bring it on at AO3!: I am happy to announce that there are now 704 Hikago fanworks on AO3!

To give a sense of scale, we were only at 365 fanworks when

qem_chibati first posted the call back in late January. Congratulations for doing such an awesome job! If we beat Yuu-gi-oh, which is currently at 874 fanworks, we will be in the top 10!

- OTW Community Survey: On the subject of AO3, the archive is run and maintained by the Organization for Transformative Works, which is a non-profit being run by fellow fans. In addition to creating AO3, they also have a number of other projects, such as Fanlore (a sort of fannish Wikipedia), which you can read about at their website.

They are currently holding a community survey:

If you use AO3 or Fanlore (or any of their other projects) in any way, I really encourage you to take the survey because this is our chance to give them feedback. In particular, the OTW has had a history of issues with reaching out to anime/manga fans, and I think it would help a lot to show that we, as anime/manga fans, are using the OTW's projects and tell them what we want from the organization. (And if you're feeling especially motivated, please signalboost to other anime/manga fans as well!)

Running on a slightly tighter timescale than

ihikago,

chromatic_podfic is running its second annual challenge, and any podfics for Hikago will automatically qualify. Sign ups are open now until January 28! (Disclaimer: I mod

chromatic_podfic so yes, this is completely self-interested.)

fancake, a themed multifandom recs community, is collecting fic recs with Established Relationships until February 15. There's already been some recs for Hikago, but let's add more! All your favorite "Akira and Hikaru are so married" stories should count.

Porn Battle XIII opens for prompting on January 28...let's try to leave some prompts for our fandom!

And later down the line, there's

not_primetime, a fic exchange for medium-sized fandoms, coming up in April.

ihikago is running its fifth round. Readers can sign up until January 24. Authors can give permission for their fics to be recorded at any time.

eastasianfandomgiftbag is a wishlist exchange that's been running for the past two months, but you still have until the end of January to fill any prompts/requests on people's wishlists. Here are the wishlists that include Hikaru no Go: manga: hikaru no go, anime: hikaru no go.
