It wasn't that Waya was in love with Shindou or anything. Not even close. He and Shindou were just friends. But he was jealous that Touya took up all of Shindou's time and Waya wasn't going to lose to Touya so easily.
Shindou learned to see Sai in his Go and soon learned to see Sai in the things Sai loved. Now though, as he watched the fake fish in the lobby of the Go institute, Shindou wondered if he could translate Sai's love of non-Go things into his own Go. Touya's there to help Shindou out with his goal. After all, it wasn't only Shindou's life that Sai had touched. They wouldn't even be together if it wasn't for Sai.
Kise is pretty sure that this is not exactly how meetings with fans are supposed to go.
“Hey Touya, are you sure he agreed to meet us?”
“Stop fidgeting, Shindou. Why would I lie to you about something like that?”
“Well, did you get the time and place right, then? Maybe we’re waiting in the wrong place. What exactly did you agree on?”
“Shindou. Don’t try my patience.”
“Touya, you don’t understaaaand - ”
Kise, who had been observing the exchange from close by for a few minutes, marveled at the abandon with which Touya and his friend could argue about someone who was literally just a few steps away from them.
Summary:
"Touya! I'd like to experiment with the tamping speed on his smug face," Hikaru snarled. "Anyway, I can't imagine him making latte art. He has his style, I have mine. I don’t need to copy him." Or you, Hikaru added to himself.
