1996 December: Around this time, became an insei. (Kishimoto is an 11-year-old sixth-year elementary school student).
1997 April: Began schooling at Kaiou Middle School.
1998 February: Around this time, quit being an insei. (This means he is now eligible to play in tournaments, although he doesn't). (The First Kita Middle School Winter Term Go Tournament occurs).
(1998 April: (Began second year at Kaiou Middle School.)
(1998 June: (Second Kita Middle School Summer Term Go Tournament occurs).
(1999 February: (Third Kita Middle School Winter Term Go Tournament occurs. Kishimoto does not participate).
(1999 April: (Began third year at Kaiou Middle School.)
1999 May: Played a game against Akira. Lost by resignation. (The Gorgeous says May, but everyone is wearing summer uniforms at this point so I would have thought it to take place in June instead. There are a few errors in the Gorgeous; I don't know if this is an error, but I personally think this match happened in June, not May).
