Hi guys! Chapter 34 is the end of volume 4, so this is the end of the spamming, I promise. At least for today. ^_~ Again, same rules apply here as the last chapter- last minute pinch-hit job where I'm not commenting on everything I would like to, just the obvious stuff, apologies. No spoilers in the post, but do whatever you want in the comments. I've gotten some sleep now, but not a whole lot really plus I'm hungry, so the randomness/weirdness will probably not be any better. Sorry. XD

Chapter 34 Synopsis:
-Sai/Hikaru and Akira play a few hands of their netgo game. They start to recreate the second game that Akira played against Sai, but Sai changes it up after what looks like four moves?, in the hope that Akira doesn't realize who he's playing.
-Akira resigns, claiming to not want to disrupt the tournament
-They reschedule the game for the first day of the pro exam. DRAMA ENSUES. Sort of.
-The pro exam starts. Akira, predictably, does not show up. Waya, also predictably, is pissed off about it.

Eeeeeee Hikaru called Akira by his given name and Sai called him on it~ It's also kind of ridiculously charming that Sai still seems to think that Akira is in the computer, like he's stuck in there and can't get out, despite having to know logically by now that it can't be true.


Oh man, Hikaru, I know I joke about your intelligence a lot, but come ON. It took you THAT LONG to realize that was going to happen? REALLY?


Hikaru? Um. You're a kid possessed by a Heian era Go teacher. I think we're already beyond complicated. You should probably just get used to it. XD


...you've already distracted from the tournament, with everyone there watching you with bated breath. That's not much of an excuse.


It never ceases to absolutely kill me that Hikaru never bothers to learn Mitani's sister's name even though she's doing him a ginormous favor. Also she's so adorable I can't even. I mean. LOOK AT HER. jdskaldjskla. Oh, something I never noticed before, though maybe it's just this scan- in the right panel, I'm assuming Hikaru's mouth is supposed to be open, but it just looks like an epic sadface. Weird.


And here's Waya's convenient excuse for hating Akira, even though he clearly had issues with him before. I feel like it's been talked about lots ot times before, but I'll say it again- Waya probably feels like Akira is being handed everything. That as Touya Mejin's son, he's never had to work at the game like Waya has had to work at the game, obviously, and that pisses Waya off to no end. Of course, it's not actually TRUE, but Waya doesn't really care about the accuracy of his assumptions. That being said... if I were in Waya's shoes at this point, Akira's disregard for the pro exam would probably piss me off too, not gonna lie. If you don't know about Akira's past confrontations with Sai/Hikaru, it DOES come across badly.


Yeah, how much of a surprise is it that Akira actually chose to not go to the exam in order to sit at home on the computer with his hands in his lap, under the table, how convenient? (oh god, sorry, I couldn't help it. XD)


We did it! Chapter 4 is COMPLETE, just in time! *panthuffpant* Seriously, though, it was fun looking over this and made me think about some stuff that I hadn't really before, so there's that. ^_^ Lacy will be your host as of tomorrow, so I'm officially done spamming you all. Have fun~ *bows*
