I'm looking forward to re-discovering and discussing what happens next over the next fortnight. Volume 5 opens with Hikaru still on summer break and hanging out at the cybercafe, with the first chapter (35) wholly focused on the internet game between Akira and Sai.
I've been away fandom for quite a while because of a new job and recent exams so I'm taking the plunge back in by joining this reread.
When I see this volume again, I can't help but think how 'shippy' it is. I remember now that it wasn't until this point in the story that I started to understand how come there were so many slash fics and doujins about the series.
Technical point
All the pictures I'm embedding are scans I made of the French (Eds Tonkam) version, to which I added my own English translations using a mix of Photoshop Express and Photobucket Tools. I'd welcome any input from readers with English versions if my meaning is off as Im aware that what Im doing this adds a step away from the original version.
