Introducing OchiBot

If you read the post about the new chatroom, you may remember something called QuizBot. QuizBot was a bot lurking behind the scenes of the chatroom, waiting to serve up trivia questions. He had multiple question sets, kept track of scores, and in general was a pretty handy guy to have around, if a little bland.

However, that was two days ago. qem_chibati has been hard at work seeing if there wasn't someone else we could pressgang into service persuade to run the show, and she's succeeded.

Now we have OchiBot.

What is OchiBot?

• Like QuizBot, OchiBot runs behind the scenes in the chatroom. You won't see him in the user list, but he's always there. Like QuizBot, OchiBot's primary purpose is to run and administer trivia games.

How do I see a list of OchiBot's commands?

• Just type @help to see a list of his most commonly-used features.

How do I run a trivia game?

1. Figure out which set(s) of questions you want him to ask:
   1. Type @listsets to list the available question sets.
2. Load one or more sets of questions:
   1. Load the first by typing @init setname
      OchiBot will default to 10 questions per round, but you can set a custom round length by including a number after the set name, e.g., @init setname n where n is the number of questions you would like him to ask.
   2. Load additional sets by typing @add setname
3. Designate a prompter:
   • Since OchiBot will allow you to skip questions you haven't answered, typing @ask before you've answered the current question will skip it and have him ask a new one. To reduce the chance of this happening, it's best if each round has just one person prompting him for questions.
4. Ask for a question:
   1. Type @ask
5. Ask for a hint if necessary:
   1. Type @hint
6. Type your answer.
   • You don't need to preface your answer with @; he already knows to look for your response.
   • Use full names (e.g., "Shindou Hikaru" instead of "Shindou" or "Hikaru").
   • Use numerals (e.g., "5" instead of "five").
   • Don't use punctuation (e.g., "Touya Kouyou" instead of "Touya Kouyou?" or "Touya Kouyou!!!"
   • Some of the question sets not generated by our community might differ in terms of formatting. We're trying to bring them in line and get them standardised, but we need your help! Please let us know if you run across a question or answer that should be changed, and we'd be delighted to do so.
   • OchiBot can be pretty picky--but then again, would you expect anything else from Ochi?
7. Ask for the nest question:
   1. Type @ask

After the round is over, OchiBot will print the list of scores.

Who made these questions?

• All of the question sets that begin with hikago- were created by our community.
• All of the other question sets were created by other entities, and may not follow the same standard answer format we have developed for our sets.

Can I correct an answer or submit questions of my own?

• Please do! You're welcome to contact verys with any questions or corrections you have. Please use the following format:
  "Question?" => "Answer",

How do I see the list of scores?

• Type @scores

Are there any other strange commands?

• There's only one way to find out! Just be warned: if you decide to start bringing up sore subjects, you risk earning the wrath of the trivia game administrator, and he's the guy keeping track of your points!

Can he do anything other than run the trivia game?

• Well, we asked him if he could generate prompts with the @prompt command, but you can imagine his response--or you can ask him yourself, if you feel so inclined!

Wait, wouldn't it actually be really fun if he could generate prompts?

• I'm serious, he absolutely refused. Luckily, we didn't need Ochi's blessing to implement this in a different way.

What are the prompt generators?

• There are two prompt generators: the general safe-for-work prompt generator, and the definitely-not-safe-for-work kink prompt generator.

What is the general prompt generator?

• You can use the general prompt generator to generate a fic prompt or a meta prompt. You can see the different options by typing /prompt

How do I generate a fic prompt?

• You can generate prompts for a single character, two characters, or three characters at once.
  For one character:
  • /prompt character
  
  For two characters:
  • /prompt duo
  
  For three characters:
  • /prompt trio

How do I generate a meta prompt?

• /prompt meta

What is the kink prompt generator?

• You can use the kink prompt generator to generate a fic prompt. Please be aware that the list of kinks may contain upsetting, triggering, or objectionable content. You can see the different options by typing /promptkink

How do I generate a kink prompt?

• You can generate kinky prompts for a single character, two characters, or three characters at once.
  For one character:
  • /promptkink character
  
  For two characters:
  • /promptkink pairing
  
  For three characters:
  • /promptkink threesome
